Working principle of igniter
Hits£º1756         Date£º2021-6-1
The working principle of the motorcycle igniter is that the igniter and the sensor work together to determine the ignition time of the spark plug, also known as the ignition time. When the high voltage package amplifies the voltage, it supplies the spark plug for ignition. When the spark ignites the mixture of fuel and air, it will cause an explosion and push the piston up and down in the cylinder block, so as to achieve the function of starting the motorcycle engine.
The AC voltage output from the ignition power coil of the igniter magneto is divided into two channels: input by line 1, one is connected to the low voltage end of the transformer, and the other is supplied to the trigger circuit composed of VL and V2 after VDL rectification and Cl filtering. When the engine starts, the magneto outputs 4v-5v AC voltage, and 5v-6v DC voltage is obtained after rectification and filtering. In the trigger circuit composed of VL and V2, when the platinum contacts are combined, VL is saturated and V2 is cut off. The collector of V2 is high potential, which is used to trigger the bidirectional thyristor VD3, and VD3 turns on.
In addition, the low-voltage alternating current is boosted by the transformer, rectified by VD2, and then charged to C2. When the cam of the engine breaks the contact, the collector of VL cuts off e and VL is at high potential. The SCR vd5 is triggered by R4, vd5 is on, C2 is discharged, and the ignition coil is ignited. On the other hand, due to the different design of the engine cam, the protruding part of some cams reaches more than 100 degrees, that is, the contact opening reaches more than 100 degrees. Because the magneto is of four poles, the alternating voltage induced by each group of coils changes for two cycles in one cycle.
In order to prevent the upper end of the high voltage side of the transformer from having a positive potential during the contact breaking period, also known as the vd5 conduction period, so that the high voltage of the positive half cycle forms a short circuit through VD2 and VD4, a switch circuit composed of bidirectional silicon controlled VD3 is added. As mentioned earlier, when the contact is open, V1 is cut off, SCR is turned on, and V1 collector is at high potential, which makes "V2 saturated." The collector of V2 is of low potential and VD3 is turned off. In this way, the short circuit of high voltage during contact opening can be avoided.
